The simple things in life are free….
We have often heard these words spoken. This country has been hit by load-shedding and we have been left with no choice but to change our lifestyles drastically in order to find some kind of normality in the midst of the chaos.
I too have been frustrated and irritated by not being able to function as normal, with every situation in life, people react differently, some will embrace it while others really do have trouble accepting what cannot be changed.
I don’t watch much television, but I do watch a program called Where the wild men are – Ben Fogle – for those who have never seen it, he goes and visits remote places all over the globe were people have giving up life in the city away from all the negativity, chaos and hustle and bustle to create a home in no man’s land. All these people find a sense of peace that I am sure we all would love to embrace. I completely lose myself in these episodes and can relate to what drove them there in the first place. If there was a way for me to follow in these peoples footsteps I sure would seize the moment….
The one thing I can say about these rolling blackouts we have been having, it does give you the sense of being in the moment, amits the chaos…. I often mention and teach this to all the people I mentor. You can hear the birds, insects and critters outside. I can clearly hear the sea from my back garden and I watched the moon rise this evening. We are actually really blessed to live in such a beautiful country and sometimes these moments of peace are all we have to hold on too when things become unbearable. I captured this Aloe in my garden and loved the way the last light had fallen on the edge of the leaf, making the thorns the centre of attention and the perfect low key minimalistic image.

Great Post , Minimalism is great way of either been forced or shifting the focus ( in a more polite way ) on something. Its not about taking away things , but more about blurring the chaos and focusing in on whats important.
Creativity and Chaos go hand in hand , Logic and precise precision hyper focus are in the other , the trick is to try Balance the two. So by focusing and minimizing on what is needed is a great way to get that balance .
