Welcome to Melanie C Fine Art Photography. I am a professional photographer from Cape Town, South Africa. I’m a creator of Nature and Fine Art Photography. Thank you for visiting my website and for your interest in my images and art. I enjoy being able to capture the essence of a place or subject or experience and make it my own. I mostly use in-camera creativity and turn something ordinary into a piece of art, by adding emotion and conveying a message. From a young age, I always perceived things in a different and very creative way. I often see something unfolding were someone else might see nothing. I had always wondered what it would be like to be able to blink and capture moments and images as I perceived them for others to see. What exactly is Fine Art Photography, you may ask?

It is a combination of both technique, technical skills and expressionism. Using nature as my canvas I capture both the beauty of what nature offers or being present in the moment and chasing the light, textures, colours and often the shadows to create an image that will captivate an audience for longer than two seconds. There are millions of images on the web, so if you can manage to captivate your audience, for just a few moments, you have succeeded. This form of photography is often misunderstood. It is not an image that is captured accidentally, but an image captured with a purpose. These images are not enjoyed by everyone, but one of the best compliments I have ever received was from a sports photographer, who seldom ventures into the creative side of photography and he said “Your images drive me wild, and often plays tricks on my eyes but boy I can’t stop looking at them”
